Our values are British Values
This year we are focusing on things that really matter to us in school. At the start we are impressing that we:
- Are calm
- Are tolerant
- Achieve great things
During CLL and during assemblies for the first half term we are exploring what it is to be British. Our themes will include:
- If at first you don’t succeed
- Britain has always welcomed immigrants
- Respecting sexuality & gender
- Our British sense of humour – we can laugh at ourselves!
We have attached our assemblies if you are interested in the issues that we have been covering. After half term we will be using some of the inspirational ‘talking heads’ that are in our new building; even though many of these people are not actually British, they have in their amazing lives achieved things that match our values at Burton Borough School and our values as British Citizens. These include Sir James Dyson, Malala Yousef, Winston Churchill and Thomas Edison.
British values are Burton Borough values.
